Those who know me will appreciate just what a leap this is. I have always hated water, I won’t put my face in it, and I’ve never once had the desire to learn to swim. In fact, the pupils at Windermere know this about me very well and never fail to find it hilarious! So why am I doing it now?
Because it is for a cause I care about deeply: the Stannite Bursary Fund. This fund provides life-changing opportunities for talented young people, enabling them to benefit from a Windermere education regardless of their circumstances. Importantly, it will also help support pupils currently in the School—giving them the chance to access opportunities, experiences and support that they might not otherwise have. From academic enrichment and adventurous learning to arts, sport and pastoral care, the bursary fund helps ensure every pupil can thrive.
If facing my fear and tackling the challenge of swimming helps raise awareness and funds for this, then it will be worth every splash, splutter, and squeal!
I am officially launching my challenge this week, and I would be so grateful for your support. Every donation, big or small, will spur me on (arm bands and all!) and, more importantly, will help us open doors of opportunity for future and current Stannites alike.

Thank you so much for cheering me on—I’ll be sure to keep you updated on my watery progress!
