Excitement, energy, and determination filled the air at Windermere School as we welcomed Stannite and GB OCR competitor Jonny Hunter for a fantastic day of Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) workshops. From our Year 5 and 6 pupils in the afternoon to our Browhead students later in the day, every participant threw themselves into the challenges with enthusiasm, embracing the world of OCR with open arms.
In the evening session, parents and Stannites joined in, testing their endurance, agility, and teamwork as they tackled obstacles under Jonny’s expert guidance. It was incredible to see such engagement across all age groups, with everyone pushing their limits, learning new skills, and—most importantly—having fun!
Jonny was full of praise for our pupils, saying:
"You all played brilliantly! I was amazed at the energy and effort you put into your race and how well you adapted to the challenges and obstacles ahead of you – thank you for going 100% all in and giving it your best go. I hope the workshop has kindled a fire to step deeper into the world of obstacle sports and racing, and to face and conquer another challenge!"
For those inspired to continue their OCR journey, Jonny is happy to stay in touch—just reach out through Jo Gaskin or connect with him on Instagram @hunterasintohunt.
A huge thank you to Jonny for sharing his expertise, passion, and encouragement with our community. We look forward to bringing more OCR opportunities to Windermere School in the future—watch this space!
