Our Year 9 pupils opened the occasion with a thoughtful and informative assembly, sharing the origins and meaning of Thanksgiving and highlighting why the day remains so important to many families across the world. Their reflections set a warm and respectful tone for the morning.
A particular highlight was a beautiful performance of the American National Anthem, played by Jake on the trumpet, filling the hall with a sense of pride and occasion.
Guests were then treated to a selection of Thanksgiving-inspired treats, lovingly prepared by pupils with Jane in Food & Nutrition. From seasonal flavours to festive creativity, the pupils embraced the spirit of the celebration with enthusiasm.
Today’s event was a wonderful reminder of the rich diversity within the Windermere School community, and the importance of recognising and honouring the traditions our families hold dear.
We extend our warmest wishes to all our American Stannites, families, and friends - both here in Windermere and around the world.
Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃🍁
