A Special Elleray Discovery Across Generations

Sometimes the most meaningful connections to a school are discovered when we least expect them.

Recently, Kate, our wonderful receptionist at Elleray, made a remarkable and touching discovery while sorting through paperwork belonging to her late father. Among the documents was his very first school report, written when he was just six years old - from Elleray in 1936.

Kate had no idea that her father had attended the school, making this find both a surprise and a deeply emotional moment. What began as an ordinary task quickly became a powerful reminder of the enduring role Elleray has played in the lives of families across generations.

This newly uncovered connection has created an even stronger bond for Kate with the school and with her father’s memory. It beautifully illustrates how education leaves a legacy that stretches far beyond childhood, classrooms and school gates.

Stories like this remind us that Windermere School and Elleray are not just places of learning, but communities woven into family histories - sometimes waiting decades to be rediscovered.
