A Special musical concert

A musical tribute with Janet McCallum, celebrating a legacy of music, teaching and community

On Saturday, Windermere School welcomed alumni, current pupils, staff, and friends for a truly memorable evening: the Alumni Concert in honour of Janet McCallum.

Janet first joined Windermere School as a flute teacher in 1984 and became Head of Music in 1999. Since then, her passion, encouragement, and commitment to excellence have shaped the musical journeys of generations of pupils. The concert was a heartfelt celebration of her extraordinary contribution to school life.

Crampton Hall came alive with music, laughter, and shared memories, as past and present Stannites performed in tribute to a teacher who has meant so much to so many. It was an evening of love and gratitude, and a powerful reminder of the lifelong impact of inspirational teaching.

We would love to hear your memories of Janet or see any photos from the evening—please feel free to share them with us at jgaskin@windermereschool.co.uk.

Thank you, Janet. Your legacy will live on in every note played, every song sung, and every pupil inspired.
