Our new Headmaster has arrived

As the new term begins we are absolutely delighted to welcome our new Headmaster Mr Tom Hill, to the Windermere School community.

Mr Hill was previously Head of the Senior School at Brighton College Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, UAE, a school he has served since 2018. Tom was educated at QEGS, Blackburn and then Hutton Grammar School, Preston before studying English and Sports Science at Loughborough, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at Hull and an MA in Educational Leadership and Management at Warwick.

Prior to his last role, Tom was Senior Deputy Head at Bedford Girls’ School and Head of Sixth Form at Lincoln Minster School.

He is active in sports, holding coaching qualifications in Rugby Union, Athletics, Football, Hockey and Basketball. He also plays piano and acoustic guitar.

Tom is married to Shema, an experienced Design Technology and Physics teacher, and they have three children aged 18, 17 and 13.

On his appointment, Mr Hill said: “It is a real privilege to be asked to lead the school into its next phase. Windermere School represents a unique blend; the majesty of the landscape alongside a dynamic and progressive curriculum that delivers a synergy of place and concepts necessary for truly holistic education. I aim to shape a dynamic forward-thinking school that will be renowned for providing the deep thinkers, leaders and innovators needed for the future.”
